Some cool animations made with gradient look.
Working with gradients is always an interesting challenge. The original art never have any indication of how the gradient should be animated, so it takes some experience to make this detail work together with other moviments.
Here is a cool experiment with gradients. The base for this is an illustration from Kadu Blanco. Each element was done individually and some were animated in After effects, while others in Cinema 4d and ToonBoom Harmony. The heads sppining its a frame by frame with some posterize time. No 3d on this 🙂
All the gradients are done entirely in AE.

Flowers and gradients… what more do we need?
These flowers are part of a much larger work by Drawingzilla, but these elements are so hypnotic to me that I ended up just focusing on them. The 3D effect of these flowers is a mix of bevel and Boss with a little InnerShadow layer style. All done in After effects.
